Our Process

Ready to work with our team of experts? Here’s a quick rundown of our process to what working with us is like.

Great Communication with Every Installation

When placing an order, a dealer should provide Granite World with the job site address, contact person’s name, phone number, and desired dates for template and installation. If these dates are not available our team will provide an alternative date for template and installation.

Lead Times

Our lead-time is up to 15 business days, counting from when we are provided all the information needed for fabrication (lack of information such as sink, number of holes for faucets, edge choice may delay your process, even if template was already done). We will do our best to complete your order as quickly as possible pending availability of slabs and time of fabrication.

A Job Site is Ready for Template When…

All necessary appliances including cooktop, down draft, stove, sink, faucets, soap dispenser, hot water call, or any other pertinent items are on site. Any item that requires a cut into the stone, such as sink, will be taken at the time of template (except cooktops, only specification will be required) and returned at the time of installation.

Viewing and Approving Your Slabs

Your slabs should be viewed and approved before the template for countertop is made. After the template is done we encourage you to participate when the layout is done on the slab prior to sending your project into fabrication.

Template

The homeowner or (designated decision-maker over the age of 18) MUST be present during the entire template process. This person will have to answer questions in regards to seaming, corner radius, overhangs and “special designs” on the island, etc.; therefore it is recommended that this person is familiar with the project. This person will also be asked to initial the template and paperwork related to the project.

We use a laser template system. If we are templating over an existing countertop everything needs to be removed from the counter in order for us to get accurate measurements.

The laser software is very sensitive, so we need the room to be clear of any other work being done. If there are people walking around the room, causing the equipment to move, we won’t be able to measure and we will have to reschedule the appointment at the customer charge.

Pricing

We have priced your order based on measurements that you have provided us on initial conversations. After the template is done we will recalculate the square footage, and if it is different from the initial, prices will be adjusted accordingly.
