Granite Countertops in Brockton, MA: The Natural Choice for Durability and Versatility
Granite is one of the most popular natural stones in the market. As an igneous rock, the granite you're considering was once molten. It was formed as it cooled inside the earth. It is quarried from the mountains of Italy, the U.S., India, Brazil, China, and dozens of other countries around the world. Here at Granite World, we are passionate about this high-quality natural stone and recommend it for a variety of installation purposes, such as kitchen countertops, floors, and other surfaces that undergo heavy usage.
Minerals within the granite look like flecks and are what give it the classic "salt and pepper" look. Other types have veining similar to marble. Generally speaking, granite is a dense-grained, hard stone that can be highly polished or finished in a variety of ways depending on your family's needs. A broad spectrum of colors is available to match the color palette and feel of your home.

What Makes Granite Counters So Popular?
Granite is a highly durable and attractive option for kitchen countertops, floors, table tops, and exterior applications like cladding and curbing. It is available in a range of colors and has been rated as the best overall performer among kitchen countertop materials by a leading consumer magazine.
Unlike synthetic surfaces, granite is incredibly resistant to scratches and heat damage. It is also highly resistant to bacteria and does not get affected by substances like citric acid, coffee, tea, alcohol, or wine. Even with regular use, granite does not stain easily and is almost impossible to scratch. If you want to enhance your granite's resistance to staining, our team can provide you with more information about sealants available on the market.

Granite World Pro Tip
When it comes to granite countertops, high-end options often equate to unique patterns and enhanced durability. However, a higher price doesn't always guarantee better quality. At Granite World Inc., we provide raw materials from the top distributors available. Visit our showroom in Harwich, Massachusetts, and consult with one of our associates to find a granite that fits your needs and budget.
3 Timeless Ways to Complement Your Granite Countertops in Brockton, MA
If you are looking to add a touch of elegance to your kitchen, granite countertops can be a great option. With their intricate patterns and wide range of colors, they can transform a bland cooking space into a bright and merry room. However, since granite counters often steal the proverbial show, it can be tricky to design your kitchen around them.
Keep these easy design tips from the Granite World team in mind once you settle on the color and application of your granite counters:

1. Granite Countertop Decor
Keeping your kitchen looking tidy and organized requires avoiding cluttering your countertops with too many items and decorations. However, you can still enhance the look of your kitchen by adding a few carefully selected decorative items. If your granite countertops have specks of bright colors like green or purple, you can try using appliances, flowers, or decorations in those colors to make the specks in your countertops stand out. This will add a pop of color to your kitchen and elevate its overall appearance.

2. Cabinet Color
Brown, tan, and gray hues are all very popular color choices for granite kitchen countertops. As such, it's wise to choose a cabinet color that complements the natural tones of your countertops. That way, you can avoid creating an overwhelming look in your space. A warm white or a deep, moody color can be used to highlight the beauty of the countertops. If you prefer stained cabinets, pick a shade that matches the colors of your countertops.

3. Floor Pattern
Having a bold pattern on both your countertops and your floors can make your kitchen look cluttered and overwhelming. If you have granite kitchen countertops, it's a good idea to opt for a simple floor design. Choosing a plain tile or wood floor is usually a safe and practical choice.
Quartz Countertops: Elegant Design and Easy Maintenance
Quartz is a type of igneous rock that is made up of oxygen and silicon atoms in a continuous structure of silicon-oxygen tetrahedra (SiO4). It is one of the most abundant minerals on the planet and has been used in the production of kitchen and bathroom countertops for many years. Much like granite countertops in Brockton, MA quartz is an excellent option as it is highly durable and requires minimal maintenance.
Why Do Homeowners in Massachusetts Love Quartz Kitchen Counters?
When it comes to stone choices for your kitchen countertops, quartz ranks among the best choices available. But why? Let's find out.

Beauty
Quartz countertops have become increasingly popular in kitchens, and for good reason. They are designed to imitate the everlasting beauty of natural stone, providing a wide range of captivating colors and patterns. Whether you prefer the sophistication of marble or the simplicity of solid colors, quartz offers endless options to match your preferences. With professional installation services from Granite World Inc., quartz kitchen countertops can effortlessly enhance the visual appeal of any room.

Durability
As a homeowner, you're probably aware of how quickly kitchen countertops can get worn out. Luckily, quartz is a material that can withstand the daily rigors of wear and tear – even if you have kids. That's because quartz is a unique blend of natural quartz crystals, resins, and pigments, making it a highly durable surface. With quartz countertops, you don't have to worry endlessly about scratches or stains ruining the beauty of your kitchen. It is a highly resistant material, making it an ideal choice for busy kitchens and bathrooms that see a lot of activity. In fact, its scratch, stain, and heat-resistant properties make it perfect for everyday use.

Easy Maintenance
It can be frustrating to spend your weekends cleaning and maintaining your countertops. However, by choosing quartz countertops, you can eliminate one task from your to-do list. Quartz surfaces are non-absorbent, meaning that liquids won't seep in, and bacteria won't be able to breed. If there are spills, cleaning them up is as easy as wiping the surface down with a mild detergent and water. There's no need to spend hours scrubbing, buffing, or polishing. As an added bonus, you won't have to worry about sealing your countertops regularly, as you would with granite or marble.
Granite World Pro Tip: Is quartz tough? Yes. Is it indestructible? Unfortunately, it is not. Quartz is a surface that can be damaged permanently by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents that can weaken its physical properties. You should avoid using products that contain trichloroethane or methylene chloride, such as paint removers or strippers. Also, stay away from any highly aggressive cleaning agents like oven or grill cleaners that have high alkaline and PH levels.

The Boston Legacy FC is planning to build a sprawling complex in Brockton, Massachusetts, as the club settles into its new home in Boston.
The 24-acre, $27 million performance center is planned to open for the start of the 2026 National Women's Soccer League preseason, according to an announcement from the team. Indoor facilities will include workout spaces, sports medicine rooms, a film room, a kitchen, a hydrotherapy facility and staff offices. Outside will feature six fields, including grass and turf, and a bubble dome to practice in all weather.
Some of the fields will be available for local youth soccer use.
“I have supported this complex from day one because it’s a true win-win for Brockton,” saidBrockton Mayor Robert Sullivan in a media statement. “It honors our rich sports legacy as the ‘City of Champions’ while creating new opportunities for our young soccer players with high-quality playing fieldsand inspiration for the future."
The project is privately funded and will come together with help from developer Able Company, architectural firm Studio Troika, and contractor Callahan. The club has already presented to the city of Brockton as part of the planning process.
“NWSL is the most competitive league in the world, and our players need and deserve a trainingfacility that enables them to be at their best,” said team controlling owner Jennifer Epstein. “Weare proud to continue investing in not just our club, but in the overall growth of women’s sports, while also bringing further development to our community."
This comes as the club prepares for its first season in Boston, a journey that came with some controversy. Plans to renovate the city's White Stadium generated significant pushback from the community, including a lawsuit, though a judge eventually ruled the plans could move forward. That project includes the renovation of the stadium and will include updates to the larger park area, including things like new walkways, public bathroom access and a community kitchen project.
The club also underwent a rebrand before ever playing a match. Its first name, BOS Nation, was unveiled in October with a widely criticized marketing campaign, "Too Many Balls," which some considered offensive. The team apologized in the wake of the release, and later rebranded to Boston Legacy FC.

In a world riddled with $9 lattes, The Brew — Abington's newest coffee shop — is a welcome relief.
Nestled right off N. Quincy Street on the border of Abington and Brockton, The Brew opened its doors to the public on Monday, July 14. It's a craft coffee shop managed and operated by a handful of ex-Dunkin' employees who sought to prioritize — quite literally — coffee.
Rebecca Stewart runs the show. She's the visionary for the operation and manages the shop's day-to-day. She worked at Dunkin' for 20 years and jumped at the opportunity to operate a shop that emphasizes coffee as a craft.
"Coffee kickstarts your day. There's nothing worse than kickstarting your day with an awful coffee," Stewart said. "We want to give everyone what they're looking for. We don't want anyone leaving with a drink they're not happy with."
'We have a great crew'
The menu blends traditional coffee shop staples with fun twists on basic brews. There are macchiatos and americanos and lattes — priced starting at $4.70 nonetheless, but there are also signature brews like a pistachio cold brew and The Brew's best seller: the iced banana mocha.
Though still in its infancy, The Brew is already a smooth operator. Despite a constant flow of customers when the Enterprise visited, there was no lag time and orders were flying out from behind the counter. Part of the reason? Familiarity: the staff at The Brew had already worked together at Dunkin'.
"We have a great crew," Stewart said. "Everyone's very confident in their ability to make drinks. They already know how to work the machines and all that stuff."
While the coffee is the spiritual north star of the Brew, it's also physically the focus. Walking through the doors, chalkboard menu, subway tile backsplash and coffee machines immediately catch your eye. Only when you turn back over your left shoulder might you notice the seating area behind you.
"We spent so much time putting our thoughts into the menu, that we almost opened without having a lobby ready," Stewart laughed. Even if the sitting area was completed at the last minute, its wooden tables make The Brew an ideal location to get some work done while sipping on coffee.
'Endless possibilities'
While Stewart and the staff at The Brew are still getting settled into a rhythm at the new spot, they're keeping an eye to the future. Their building has an industrial kitchen in the back, something Stewart wants to take advantage of soon. Egg and cheese sandwiches will be added to the menu shortly, joining the current ranks of bagels, muffins and other classic coffee shop snacks. "We have a full-blown kitchen out back, so we've got endless possibilities," she said.
But for Stewart and the crew at The Brew, they're taking it one day at a time. In a location with frequent turnover, they realized The Brew was always going to be an uphill battle. They're just grateful for the support they've received thus far.
"I expected us to start off slow and grow," Stewart said. "We have our challenges. We're set back from the road. We don't have a drive through, and we have a Dunkin' right next store. Obviously, the odds are against us. But seeing the amount of support we've had so far, it takes the burden away a little bit."
The Brew is located at 201 N Quincy St. in Abington. It's open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. seven days a week.
