Our Process

Whether you're interested in learning more about granite countertops in Carver, MA or you're ready to place an order ASAP, our easy and informational ordering process ensures your satisfaction. Here's how it works:

 Granite Countertops Carver, MA

Have questions about our countertop installation process? We're here to help – contact our office in Harwich, and we'd be happy to give you a more detailed explanation. Now that you have the rundown on our process let's take a look at some of the most popular countertop material choices available at Granite World, Inc.

Before placing an order, by stopping by our shop or by a request through email, our sales rep gathers all the information necessary such as customers name, address, phone number and email to proceed with the stone selection process. Our sales team will guide you towards this process as well as all the details related to the project. A material must be selected to work on an estimate along with the rough dimensions given by the client or contractor. As soon as stone is picked out and all factors are discussed, a quote is created for customer's review. Once approved, the order for the material is placed making sure it will be delivered in time for your project. Templates are scheduled by first availability and the lead time for fabrication is up to 15 business days, starting from the date when we receive all the necessary information. Please note that any missing details – such as the type of sink you have, number of faucet holes, and edge choice – may cause a delay in your order, even if your template has been completed. Our team will make every effort to complete your order as soon as possible based on the availability of slabs and the time required for fabrication.

Your job site will be ready for your template once cabinets, panels, and all necessary appliances such as your stove, cooktop, faucet, draft, and other items are on site. If by any chance all the above are not ready by the template date a re-template charge will be at customers expensive.

You should have a look at your slabs and approve them before a template for your countertop is created. Once your template is complete, we recommend that you participate when your layout is finished, before your slab is sent for fabrication.

It is mandatory for the homeowner or a designated decision-maker who is over 18 years of age to be present during the entire template process. This person will be required to answer questions related to:
  • Corner Radius
  • Seaming
  • Overhangs
  • Other Special Designs
For that reason, we recommended that this person should be familiar with your project. This person will also be asked to initial the template and paperwork related to the project. To create your granite, quartz, or other type of countertop, Granite World uses a laser template system. If we are templating over an existing countertop, everything must be removed from the counter to get accurate measurements. The laser software we use is very sensitive, so it is necessary to clear the room of any other work being done. If there are people walking around the room and causing the equipment to move, we won't be able to measure, and we will have to reschedule the appointment at the customer's expense.

At Granite World, our team calculates the price of your order based on the measurements you provided to us during your initial consultation. Once your template is complete, our team will re-calculate the necessary square footage for installation. If it differs from the initial measurement, we'll adjust the price accordingly.

In case there's a request on time of sale to remove the countertop that we will be replacing at an extra cost, we require the plumbing to be disconnected as we do not provide plumbing services. We also do not reconnect sinks, faucets, or cooktops after install. The removal is done at the same time as installation. If you require an under-mount installation, we will cut out, polish, and drill the surface to accept mounting brackets. As for drop-in sinks and cooktops, we will cut out the necessary holes on-site, and some dusting should be expected during the process.

Avoid completing the final wall preparation, such as painting or wallpapering, prior to installation, if possible. Although our installers will take precautions during the countertop installation process, it is still possible to cause scrapes, punctures, or digs. Any such damages are considered incidental, and it is the responsibility of the customer to repair them.

Seaming on your countertop is determined by the fabricators. These seams typically range from 1/16 inch to 1/8 inch and may be visible to the naked eye or felt to the touch. To form the seam and blend it in with the countertop, color-coordinated epoxy will be used. While customers will be consulted regarding seam location, the fabricator reserves the right to make adjustments if necessary.

It should be noted that residual dust should be expected during installation. You may want to cover areas of your home to prevent dust from the construction area. We will leave your home in broom condition.

Granite Countertops in Carver, MA: The Natural Choice for Durability and Versatility

Granite is one of the most popular natural stones in the market. As an igneous rock, the granite you're considering was once molten. It was formed as it cooled inside the earth. It is quarried from the mountains of Italy, the U.S., India, Brazil, China, and dozens of other countries around the world. Here at Granite World, we are passionate about this high-quality natural stone and recommend it for a variety of installation purposes, such as kitchen countertops, floors, and other surfaces that undergo heavy usage.

Minerals within the granite look like flecks and are what give it the classic "salt and pepper" look. Other types have veining similar to marble. Generally speaking, granite is a dense-grained, hard stone that can be highly polished or finished in a variety of ways depending on your family's needs. A broad spectrum of colors is available to match the color palette and feel of your home.

What Makes Granite Counters So Popular?

Granite is a highly durable and attractive option for kitchen countertops, floors, table tops, and exterior applications like cladding and curbing. It is available in a range of colors and has been rated as the best overall performer among kitchen countertop materials by a leading consumer magazine.

Unlike synthetic surfaces, granite is incredibly resistant to scratches and heat damage. It is also highly resistant to bacteria and does not get affected by substances like citric acid, coffee, tea, alcohol, or wine. Even with regular use, granite does not stain easily and is almost impossible to scratch. If you want to enhance your granite's resistance to staining, our team can provide you with more information about sealants available on the market.

3 Timeless Ways to Complement Your Granite Countertops in Carver, MA

If you are looking to add a touch of elegance to your kitchen, granite countertops can be a great option. With their intricate patterns and wide range of colors, they can transform a bland cooking space into a bright and merry room. However, since granite counters often steal the proverbial show, it can be tricky to design your kitchen around them.

Keep these easy design tips from the Granite World team in mind once you settle on the color and application of your granite counters:

Granite World Carver, MA

1. Granite Countertop Decor

Keeping your kitchen looking tidy and organized requires avoiding cluttering your countertops with too many items and decorations. However, you can still enhance the look of your kitchen by adding a few carefully selected decorative items. If your granite countertops have specks of bright colors like green or purple, you can try using appliances, flowers, or decorations in those colors to make the specks in your countertops stand out. This will add a pop of color to your kitchen and elevate its overall appearance.

2. Cabinet Color

Brown, tan, and gray hues are all very popular color choices for granite kitchen countertops. As such, it's wise to choose a cabinet color that complements the natural tones of your countertops. That way, you can avoid creating an overwhelming look in your space. A warm white or a deep, moody color can be used to highlight the beauty of the countertops. If you prefer stained cabinets, pick a shade that matches the colors of your countertops.

3. Floor Pattern

Having a bold pattern on both your countertops and your floors can make your kitchen look cluttered and overwhelming. If you have granite kitchen countertops, it's a good idea to opt for a simple floor design. Choosing a plain tile or wood floor is usually a safe and practical choice.

Quartz Countertops: Elegant Design and Easy Maintenance

Quartz is a type of igneous rock that is made up of oxygen and silicon atoms in a continuous structure of silicon-oxygen tetrahedra (SiO4). It is one of the most abundant minerals on the planet and has been used in the production of kitchen and bathroom countertops for many years. Much like granite countertops in Carver, MA quartz is an excellent option as it is highly durable and requires minimal maintenance.

Why Do Homeowners in Massachusetts Love Quartz Kitchen Counters?

When it comes to stone choices for your kitchen countertops, quartz ranks among the best choices available. But why? Let's find out.

Beauty

Beauty

Quartz countertops have become increasingly popular in kitchens, and for good reason. They are designed to imitate the everlasting beauty of natural stone, providing a wide range of captivating colors and patterns. Whether you prefer the sophistication of marble or the simplicity of solid colors, quartz offers endless options to match your preferences. With professional installation services from Granite World Inc., quartz kitchen countertops can effortlessly enhance the visual appeal of any room.

Durability

Durability

As a homeowner, you're probably aware of how quickly kitchen countertops can get worn out. Luckily, quartz is a material that can withstand the daily rigors of wear and tear – even if you have kids. That's because quartz is a unique blend of natural quartz crystals, resins, and pigments, making it a highly durable surface. With quartz countertops, you don't have to worry endlessly about scratches or stains ruining the beauty of your kitchen. It is a highly resistant material, making it an ideal choice for busy kitchens and bathrooms that see a lot of activity. In fact, its scratch, stain, and heat-resistant properties make it perfect for everyday use.

Easy Maintenance

Easy Maintenance

It can be frustrating to spend your weekends cleaning and maintaining your countertops. However, by choosing quartz countertops, you can eliminate one task from your to-do list. Quartz surfaces are non-absorbent, meaning that liquids won't seep in, and bacteria won't be able to breed. If there are spills, cleaning them up is as easy as wiping the surface down with a mild detergent and water. There's no need to spend hours scrubbing, buffing, or polishing. As an added bonus, you won't have to worry about sealing your countertops regularly, as you would with granite or marble.

Granite World Pro Tip: Is quartz tough? Yes. Is it indestructible? Unfortunately, it is not. Quartz is a surface that can be damaged permanently by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents that can weaken its physical properties. You should avoid using products that contain trichloroethane or methylene chloride, such as paint removers or strippers. Also, stay away from any highly aggressive cleaning agents like oven or grill cleaners that have high alkaline and PH levels.

Carver High football earns trip to Gillette Stadium with dominant semifinal win

DUDLEY – The Carver High football team has not been known as a winner.

According to senior captain Tyler Lennox, that narrative changed Friday.

A year after finishing 3-8, No. 2 Carver rolled to a 44-0 win over No. 3 Hoosac Valley in the Division 8 semifinals at Shepherd Hill Regional. The Crusaders (11-0) are now headed to Gillette Stadium for the first time. Carver will meet the winner of Saturday’s game between No. 1 West Boylston (10-0) and No. 4 Cathedral (7-2) in the state final (date and time to be determined).

“Whole lot of losing in our time,” said Carver senior captain Jameson Helms. “It’s good to see some winning.”

The Crusaders dominated from the opening drive, a 10-play, 55-yard drive that Helms capped with a 3-yard touchdown run, until Jack Balzarini returned a muffed handoff 22 yards for a TD to force running clock with the Crusaders ahead 44-0 in the third quarter. From that point on, the second units exchanged scoreless possessions as seconds ticked off the clock.

“Our goal from Day 1 of the season was to be at Gillette this year because we knew we had the pieces in place to do it,” said second-year Carver coach Ben Shuffain.

Carver’s bevy of skill-position players has earned plenty of headlines this fall (rightfully so), but in Friday’s win, the Crusaders dominated in the trenches. The offensive line paved the way for Carver to go 5-for-5 on scoring TDs with the first unit in. The defensive line helped force four interceptions and the aforementioned fumble recovery.

James Callahan, Tyler Swain, Jack Reed, Cam Loranger and Nathan Dirado make up the offensive line. Balzarini, Reed, Dirado and Callahan play on the defensive line.

“I tell these guys every time, you guys are underrated,” said Lennox of his linemen. “(I tell them), ‘Our opponents want to attack you, that’s how they think they’re going to beat us,’ and our line has showed up all year.”

Helms rushed for three TDs in the win. He intercepted a pass late in the first half. That pick paved the way for Lennox to throw a 21-yard TD pass to Robbie Peterson, who made a toe-tapping grab in front of the field-goal post. That put the Crusaders up 28-0 at halftime.

Pressure from the defensive line forced an errant throw on Hoosac Valley’s first drive of the second half, leading to an interception by Nathan Dirado. Dirado’s pick led to Helms’ third rushing TD of the day to put Carver up 36-0.

“Our offense line and defensive line dominated tonight,” said Shuffain. “Usually I’m talking about the skill guys, but they just dominated.”

Lennox, who was 11-of-16 passing for 171 yards and two TDs, threw a 28-yard TD pass to Derek Lopes in the first half. Lennox tossed a moon ball to the end zone and Lopes came down with a contested catch in the end zone on the 50-50 ball.

“When we’ve got the ball in our hands, we don’t think anyone can stop us,” said Lennox.

Carver Select Board Emergency Meeting Friday to Discuss King Richard’s Faire Issues

CARVER (WBSM) — After some controversy surrounding its ticket policy and other issues in recent weeks, King Richard’s Faire has drawn the attention of the Carver Select Board, which will hold an emergency meeting Friday morning to discuss the problems.

According to a meeting agenda posted on the Town of Carver website, an “emergency hearing” will take place at 8 a.m. on October 6 at Carver Town Hall “to hear complaints about traffic, parking and overcrowding conditions and determine whether to modify, suspend or revoke common victualler and alcoholic beverage licenses,” the agenda reads, noting that “votes may be taken.”

A common victualler license is issued in Massachusetts for businesses that wish to sell food; essentially, the select board could vote this morning to take away the popular Renaissance fair's ability to sell food and alcohol, if the five-member board decides to take that course of action.

Get our free mobile app

The complaints have come about as frequent rainy weekends throughout this year’s King Richard’s Faire season have limited the number of days the Faire has been open. Many ticket buyers may not be aware that they can actually adjust the date of their ticket up to 11:59 p.m. the day before it is originally dated if they have concerns about the weather forecast or for any other reason.

Now in its 42nd season, the Faire has also moved to a system in which all tickets purchased in advance are dated for a specific day of attendance only, something that the select board had pushed for back in January when meeting with Faire representatives to address parking and other issues in advance of the 2023 season and following similar issues last season.

The King Richard’s Faire Facebook page has been inundated with comments, especially on Sunday, October 1, from people who purchased tickets in advance for that specific date but arrived to find no available parking. Cars who park along Route 58 outside of the Faire’s parking lot are subject to tow.

The Faire posted to Facebook Sunday at 1 p.m. that it was already sold out for the day, leading to many complaints for those who had purchased tickets but had arrived to find that there was no room for them in the parking lot. The Faire asked for anyone who could not use their ticket to contact the Faire through its website to resolve the issue, but many commenters noted the solution was just a transfer of dates and not a refund.

On Thursday, October 5 just before 1 p.m., King Richard’s Faire posted the following to Facebook:

“Dear Valued Guests,

After a rainy season so far, we were happy to see some beautiful weather last Sunday – and beautiful crowds.

We have been working hard this week to streamline our operations after last weekend. After 41 years, we are all adjusting to the “new normal” for New England destinations post-COVID and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we adjust to a new online ticket system with dated tickets.

If you did not gain entry to our Faire with a ticket in hand, please email us at info@kingrichardsfaire.net to remedy the situation. We want to help and make your experience a magical and merry one.

Warmly, King Richard’s Faire Management”

The only remaining 2023 dates are October 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 21, and 22 with many tickets already sold in advance, so it would seem unlikely that the select board would vote to revoke either of the Faire’s licenses for the remainder of this season.

However, it is reasonable to assume there will be more discussions of ticketing logistics and parking ahead of the 2024 season.

This year’s Cohasset boys basketball team is a young one, and at the moment, a young one missing a couple of key players out with injury.

That said, the Skippers gave Carver a solid battle Friday night in what ended in a 50-44 loss in the team’s home opener.

The loss followed a 45-38 road victory at Lowell Collegiate on Tuesday.

Friday, junior Sam Larsen, one of six juniors on the roster, which has no seniors, five sophomores and one freshman, scored 15 points, six in the fourth quarter to lead the Skippers, who went into the fourth quarter leading 35-34.

In the end, it was the three pointer that helped the Crusaders pull away.

They opened the frame with a three to take a 37-35 lead, and after a Cohasset bucket by Larsen, Carver launched another three that missed, but Carver’s Nate Dirado grabbed the rebound and scored his only two points of the game to give the visitors a 41-37 advantage.

Luke Moore answered for Cohasset drilling a three to cut the deficit to 41-40, but Carver hit another three to up the lead to 44-40 before Larsen spun inside and hit a tough layup to cut the lead back to two with 1:15 to play.

Carver scored the next bucket and then forced a turnover that turned into a Tyler Lennox bucket and a six point advantage with less than 30 seconds to go.

Larsen added a pair of free throws with 28.8 left to keep Cohasset still with a chance, but a pair of free throws from Robbie Peterson iced the win for Carver.

There were plenty of positives for the Skippers, who made 14-of-18 free throws and made six three pointers in the game, coming from four different players.

Carver also made six three, with two in the fourth quarter.

Along with Larsen’s 15 points, Will Henle added 9, Moore chipped in 8 and Jack Cullinan scored 6.

Max Monahan had four and Dan Baker made a pair of free throws for two points.

“We’re a young, inexperienced team, minus potentially two starters who are out with injury,” Cohasset coach Bo Ruggiero said. “I thought our six guys hung in there very, very well. I was pleased with Luke Moore. He ended up being the leading rebounder with 11 rebounds.”

Ruggiero said the relative inexperience of this group showed up late in the game.

“We had some ball possessions late in the game where our inexperience showed because we tried to rush things or ended up taking poor shots. Poor shots lead to turnovers which lead to easy scores. We did a nice job defensively, especially being limited in or numbers. We played a quality team and I thought we did a good job overall.”

As for that defense, the Skippers held Carver to 11 points in the first quarter, with nine coming off three pointers and the teams went into the second quarter tied 11-11, with the final bucket of the quarter a trey from Cullinan.

In the second quarter, the Skippers looked to start taking control, jumping to a 22-15 lead after, yes, a three from Moore, but Carver went on an 8-2 run to end the first half trailing 24-23.

Cohasset (1-1) was scheduled to play Randolph Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m., but that game has been postponed due to weather and power outages. They’re scheduled for a trip to Mashpee Friday, Dec. 22 for a 6:30 start.

On the girls side, the Skippers dropped their season opener 38-32 at Carver and like the boys have had Tuesday’s game at Randolph postponed.
